it's time to go
listening to new music,
gathering new experiences
growing into our own skin
exploring new things,
reading new books
turning a new page.
remembering but not dwelling,
seeing but not acting,
feeling but not reacting
righting wrongs, listening to God
time will do its thing,
life unveils itself
for us to step into.
"Friends give each other goodbye hugs, riiight?" playfully she asked, acting dumb.
I smiled an understanding but equally playful smile, looked over at her as I turned onto the street of her house.
"Naw, you know it's better for both of us if we don't." I said, hiding how I really felt. The words almost choked me on the way out.
"Okay..." She replied sadly.
I would've hugged her. I would've hugged her and never let go.
But I guess the timing just wasn't right.
